Plymouth oldest gay venue, The Clarence has closed (weekend of 3rd May 2008).

Devon and Cornwall Police Authority is looking to appoint three independent members (one of whom must be a lay justice) to serve on the Authority from 1 October 2008.
The members will help to secure an efficient and effective police force in Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly. This includes consulting the public about the work of the police and building a partnership between the police and local communities.
Members attend meetings, participate in public consultation on local policing issues, and keep themselves informed of national and local policing issues.
Devon and Cornwall Police Authority is looking to attract as diverse a range of people as possible irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation or disability. |
